Introducing Ikechukwu Ibenegbu: "The Mosquito" at Heartland

By Ojeikere Aikhoje Fondly called "Mosquito", Bartholomew Ikechukwu Ibenegbu is an attacking midfielder, who plays for Heartland F.C. He is one the few Nigerian football stars with a degree. Ibenegbu graduated from the Imo State University A brilliant footballer with international experience, Ibenegbu, was top scorer in the Nigerian League back in 2006 when he played for El-Kanemi Warriors. Bought from Enyimba, Ibenegbu has since become the favourite of the Owerri fans with his exciting performance on the field. Cool in front of the goal, good positioning, solid work ethic - he is not tthe ypical centre-forward, but knows how to get the ball behind goalkeepers as an attacking midfielder. He is one of the few Nigerian stars to have played for the Super Eagles and the Beach Eagles. Ibenegbu was on duty when the Super Eagles played the friendly match against Egypt, in April.
